MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE

Memphis’ Christian Brothers High School, an eminent Catholic institution, has been committed to an educational experience for young men that nurtures the whole person for more than a century.

In 2021, CBHS marked its 150th year as an institution shaping and inspiring Memphis’ young men. The school boasts some 11,000 alumni worldwide, and countless more who have passed through its doors since 1871 and several changes to its physical campus.

And in early April 2022, Behind the Scenes designed a purple and gold-themed gala on the school’s East Memphis campus, hosting some 700 guests.

The result was a seamless evening of connections, memories, and plenty of smiles, between parents, faculty and CBHS administrators.

Strategy

Behind the Scenes parlayed CBHS’ voluminous Field House into a beautiful event space with gold and white chairs and tables (provided by Hicks Convention Rentals),  elegant gold table linens, and bright, paschal floral arrangements.

Guests dined on fine catering from Sage, a beloved Memphis standby. And audiovisuals were expertly supplied by our partners at Nolan Production Group.

Outcome

Our planning team delivered an event with multigenerational appeal, as parents, Brothers of multiple graduating classes, and their families gathered to commemorate their institution’s legacy and its impact on the formation of thousands of young lives.

“The effect of our history as a school was reflected back by such beautiful surroundings,” said Carrie Roberts, Director of Alumni and Community Engagement at Christian Brothers High School. “We were blessed with an elegant setting in which to share memories and really reflect on what being part of the Brotherhood has meant for boys and young men not only in Memphis but around the world.”
